Designation: CMM Programmer

Education: Diploma, bachelor’s degree or equivalent.

Experience Level: 5 years of experience in CMM Programming (ZEISS Calipso) in a manufacturing environment, with at least 3 years in aerospace or defence sectors.

Primary Skill:

• Work closely with quality control personnel to develop programs to meet production requirements.

• Program and set up CMM machines to accurately inspect products to meet stringent tolerances and specifications.

• Develop and write software programs to automate CMM machines for efficient and consistent results.

• Maintain detailed records of inspections, noting deviations or defects found to ensure traceability.

• Test and debug programs to ensure they meet quality and productivity standards.

• Modify existing programs as needed to improve efficiency and accuracy.

• Collaborate with other engineers and technicians to solve problems as they arise.

• Train and guide operators in the use of the CMM machines and programs.

• Maintain accurate records of programs, processes, and results

• Communicate identified defects promptly to supervisors and collaborate on corrective actions for timely resolution

• Verify products meet industry standards, company policies, and regulatory requirements by staying updated on quality regulations.

Primary Roles & Responsibilities:

A. Experience working with CMM machines and software, such as ZEISS Calipso

B. Understanding of part drawings and tolerance analysis.

C. Ability to write and troubleshoot CMM programs.

D. Familiarity with GD&T and inspection techniques

E. Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.

F. Prepare CMM programs as required to CAD data and or prints for component parts and assemblies.

G. Performs first off, in-process & end-of-run report and Performs gauge studies, GR & R’s (attribute and variables)

H. Performs ballooning of customer prints/drawings, prepares data for the PPAP submission as requested.

I. Monitor software are calibrated/verified as per schedule.
