🎯 Role Overview
The Collection Associate is responsible for managing outstanding customer accounts, ensuring timely collection of payments, and maintaining positive client relationships. This role plays a key part in safeguarding the company’s cash flow and minimizing bad debt.
📋 Key Responsibilities
Contact customers via phone, email, and written communication to follow up on overdue accounts.
Negotiate payment arrangements while maintaining professionalism and empathy.
Record and update customer interactions in the system accurately.
Monitor accounts receivable aging reports and escalate high-risk accounts.
Collaborate with the finance team to reconcile discrepancies in billing or payments.
Ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
Provide regular reports on collection status and outstanding balances.
Support continuous improvement initiatives in collection processes.
✅ Qualifications & Skills
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field (preferred).
1–3 years of experience in collections, accounts receivable, or customer service.
Strong communication and negotiation skills.
Ability to handle difficult conversations with tact and professionalism.
Proficiency in MS Office and ERP/accounting software.
Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time-management skills.
Knowledge of credit and collection laws/regulations is an advantage.
