Job Description
Role Overview
We are looking for a proactive and technically skilled L2 Support Engineer with strong knowledge of Java applications and SQL databases. The candidate will be responsible for troubleshooting production issues, analyzing logs, supporting business-critical applications, and coordinating with development and infrastructure teams to ensure system stability and performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide Level 2 production/application support for enterprise applications.
- Investigate and resolve application issues related to Java-based systems.
- Analyze and write SQL queries for data validation, troubleshooting, and reporting.
- Monitor application health, batch jobs, APIs, and database performance.
- Perform root cause analysis (RCA) for recurring incidents.
- Handle incident management, service requests, and problem tickets within SLA timelines.
- Coordinate with L1 support, developers, QA, DevOps, and business teams for issue resolution.
- Review application logs using tools like Splunk, Kibana, or ELK.
- Support deployment activities and post-release validations.
- Maintain support documentation, knowledge base articles, and SOPs.
- Participate in on-call support and shift rotations if required.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of Java/J2EE concepts.
- Hands-on experience with SQL queries, joins, stored procedures, and database troubleshooting.
- Experience supporting production applications.
- Good understanding of REST APIs and web services.
- Familiarity with Linux/Unix commands.
- Experience with ticketing tools such as Jira, ServiceNow, or Remedy.
- Knowledge of log analysis and monitoring tools.
- Understanding of SDLC, incident management, and ITIL processes.
- Preferred Skills
- Exposure to Spring Boot or Microservices architecture.
- Knowledge of Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL, or SQL Server.
