Job Description
The Operations Executive (Fleet Operations) is responsible for managing the company’s fleet of vehicles, ensuring efficient use, maintenance, and compliance with safety standards. This role involves monitoring fleet performance, reducing operational costs, and ensuring that transportation services meet customer expectations while adhering to regulatory requirements.
Fleet Management:
- Oversee day-to-day operations of the company’s fleet, ensuring vehicles are utilized efficiently and effectively.
- Schedule and coordinate vehicle maintenance, servicing, and repairs to minimize downtime and ensure optimal performance.
- Track and analyze key metrics such as fuel consumption, mileage, and vehicle usage to optimize fleet performance.
- Develop and implement strategies to reduce operating costs and improve fuel efficiency.
- Ensure fleet compliance with all relevant safety regulations, laws, and licensing requirements.
- Manage vehicle procurement, insurance, licensing, and registration renewals.
Driver Management:
- Supervise and manage the company’s drivers, ensuring adherence to company policies and safety standards.
- Monitor driver performance and behaviors (e.g., speeding, idling) using fleet management software or telematics systems.
- Conduct regular driver training sessions to enhance safety, driving efficiency, and compliance with regulations.
- Resolve any issues or incidents related to drivers or vehicles in a timely manner.
Route Optimization:
- Plan and assign routes to drivers, ensuring efficient and cost-effective delivery operations.
- Implement route optimization tools and strategies to minimize travel time, fuel consumption, and wear and tear on vehicles.
- Work with dispatch teams to ensure smooth coordination between fleet operations and customer deliveries.
Budgeting & Cost Control:
- Develop and manage fleet operation budgets, including fuel costs, maintenance, repairs, and depreciation.
- Monitor and control fleet-related expenses, aiming to reduce unnecessary expenditures.
- Report on fleet performance, costs, and any issues or inefficiencies, providing recommendations for improvements.
Fleet Reporting & Documentation:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records for each vehicle, including maintenance history, insurance, and driver logs.
- Generate and analyze reports on fleet utilization, costs, and driver performance.
- Ensure all fleet operations are properly documented in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
