Ground Staff are responsible for handling passenger services, ensuring safety procedures, coordinating with airline departments, and maintaining smooth airport operations. They assist passengers with check-in, boarding, baggage, flight information, and customer support while maintaining professional behavior and high service standards.
Key Responsibilities
Passenger Handling
Welcome and assist passengers at the airport
Guide passengers during check-in and boarding processes
Verify passenger documents such as tickets, passports, and ID proof
Provide information regarding flight schedules, delays, and boarding gates
Assist elderly passengers, VIPs, and passengers with special needs
Check-In Operations
Issue boarding passes and baggage tags
Weigh and label passenger baggage
Ensure baggage complies with airline regulations
Handle excess baggage fee procedures
Boarding & Departure Assistance
Make boarding announcements
Coordinate passenger boarding procedures
Ensure timely departure of flights
Verify boarding passes before boarding
Baggage Handling Coordination
Monitor baggage loading and unloading activities
Coordinate with baggage handling teams
Assist passengers with lost or delayed baggage complaints
Customer Service
Resolve passenger queries and complaints professionally
Maintain positive customer relations
Provide excellent hospitality and service standards
Safety & Security
Follow airport safety and security regulations
Coordinate with security staff when required
Report suspicious activities or unattended baggage
Administrative Duties
Maintain passenger records and reports
Prepare operational documents and daily reports
Coordinate with airline staff and airport authorities

Educational Qualification
Minimum: 10+2 (Higher Secondary)
Graduation preferred for senior roles
Diploma or certification in Aviation/Hospitality is an advantage
Experience
Freshers can apply
Previous experience in aviation, hospitality, or customer service is preferred
Salary Range in India
Fresher: ₹20,000 – ₹25,000 per month
Experienced: ₹30,000 – ₹50,000 per month
International airports may offer higher salaries
